MailVault
Email management app

Another local email archiver. Seen this before — Mailsteward, MailArchiver, EagleFiler, and a dozen dead Electron apps all tried this. The "my friend Tomas" origin story is fine but it's one anecdote standing in for a market. 32 hearts on the "I want this" button is not validation, it's a rounding error. The hero copy is clean and the problem framing is honest, but there's nothing here that explains why this survives where the others didn't. Free and open source with a Tauri binary sounds principled but it's also a monetization void — no path to revenue means no path to sustained maintenance, and the compliance/logistics crowd this is supposedly for will not trust abandoned software with their legal records. Grudging concession: the Tomas story actually targets a specific, real workflow — SMB owner hitting IMAP quota with legally-required retention needs — and that's a real niche the big players (Google Takeout, Outlook export) handle terribly. If you narrowed the entire page to that one persona and added even three testimonials from logistics or legal small businesses, and put a "MailVault for Teams" paid tier on the roadmap so visitors know this isn't abandonware-in-waiting, the conversion path would be credible. The app screenshot looks genuinely polished, which is more than most of these ever achieve.
